TOTALLY CELEBRATING THE 80’S – SUPERSUNDAY 2018 AWARDS GALA
This year’s theme – TOTALLY CELEBRATING THE 80’s – offers all creative students a fantastic decade of hair fashion choices for your photo competition entry. Judges will be looking for your hair design imagination and talent as your hair model captures one of the most popular iconic cuts and styles representing the 80’s.
BIG Hair was just one example of this ‘decade of excess’, where everything was exaggerated and more expressive! Influenced by music, television and for the first time, computer technology, hair fashion showed an endless flow of crimps, curls, and perms. Those with long curly hair totally teased it to the max – and the hopelessly straight-hair set did anything possible for curl and volume.

Runways and red carpets also featured side-ponytails (this decade with scrunchies), bangs a la Aqua-net, the Hi-Top Fade, and the cropped, voluminous and fluffed ‘Princess Diana’. Be sure to check out the mid-80’s mullet, punk-inspired spikes and mohawks, and ‘Madonna Wrap-Up’ teased chignon with fabric-tied loose bow.
You can name it … you can create it! Start with this google search on the shapes and silhouettes of your favorite 80’s styles and work your hair design magic – right within your school.
Then, simply submit model photos online of your signature statement for the judges’ review. You could become one of the 10 finalists who show your look to industry VIP guests and media at the glamourous TOTALLY Celebrating the 80’s SUPERSUNDAY Awards Gala Dinner & Reception on SUPERSUNDAY – November 11th, 2018 at the Newport Beach Resort Hotel (final winners announced that night).

HOW IT WORKS
- All contestants must be students on the day that their online registration is submitted. This competition will be for students with 800 or more hours with a live model (no mannequin’s).
- Up to 10 students from each school/location may enter.
- Registration $90.00 per school/location. You may register as few as 1 student or as many as 10 students at the one rate of $90.
- Instructors Must Register Their Students
Instructor will receive a confirmation email with the contestant(s) number(s). This number must appear in ALL six (6) models photos to be eligible. - Deadline to submit all online contestant photos October 30th, 2017, 11:59 pm PST.
- To submit your six (6) required photos, attach them to an email and send to anne@beauty-pr.com.
- In-school qualifying competitions to be held anytime between May 1 – October 30th.
- The top ten contestants and their models will be invited to a gala evening dinner and awards presentation at the Newport Marriott Hotel and Spa on Sunday, Nov. 11th, 2018.
